Renowned interior designer Alex Papachristidis teamed with event planner extraordinaire David Monn to create an Enchanted Chinoiserie Evening for the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Gala in April. The table was truly enchanting and included many elements evoking the Orient, from the dramatic bonsai adorned with colorful birds, to the lovely details of the table including a bright red embroidered tablecloth; blue and white porcelain dinnerware, jars and giant cachepot; and bamboo-handled flatware. Also in the mix was William Yeoward Crystal’s new Emmy Stemware pattern, from the Country Collection. Generous in scale and lovely in their simplicity, the Emmy Goblets and Small Wines worked perfectly on this table!
Stacey Bewkes design blog, Quintessence, provided insightful coverage of the event, and Alex and David’s table was the first one she featured. You can read more of Stacey’s coverage of the event by clicking HERE. I’ve posted some of my own images as well as images from the coverage on Quintessence. The last photo is the cavernous space of Cipriani Midtown on the night of the Gala. I was fortunate to be able to attend this event, even though it took place right in the midst of the Tabletop Show!
